Description
A cant rail refers to a horizontal rail, often positioned at an angle or with a bevelled edge. They are used to strengthen and support fence panels or palings. The angled or ‘canted’ design helps in shedding water, reducing the risk of water pooling and subsequent timber decay, thereby increasing the lifespan of the fence.
Cant rails are typically used when creating a fencing run with feather edge boards. They allows the bays (the space between two posts) to excessed the standard width of a fence panel, 1.83m.
Each cant rail are manufactured from pressure-treated timber to resist fungal decay and insect attack.
